Building Momentum: The Oceania Windsurfer LT Circuit is Expanding Across the Pacific
Published Tue 14 Apr 2026
The Oceania Sailing Federation (OSAF) is excited to share the latest on the Oceania Windsurfer LT Circuit — a regional series we have been steadily building to deliver high-quality, accessible windsurfing competition for sailors across the Pacific.

With growing interest from Member National Associations (MNAs), more countries are joining the momentum and helping us shaping a true circuit that rewards consistent performance, skill development, and regional camaraderie. Other MNAs, such as the League of New Caledonia, have already told OSAF they are very interested in adding “une étape” (a stage) to the circuit. The Windsurfer LT class is perfectly suited to Oceania’s conditions — fast, fun, and equipment-friendly — and OSAF is committed to giving it the platform it deserves.
2026: Two Strong Events Already on the Calendar
This year the circuit is already taking shape with two OSAF-recognised Oceania Championship-level events:
- Tahiti Oceania Championship (26–29 May 2026)
Hosted by the Yacht Club de Tahiti on the north coast, this regatta includes dedicated Windsurfer Men and Women categories alongside Optimist and ILCA fleets.
- Fiji Windsurfer Oceania Championships (6–9 June 2026)
Held at the spectacular Musket Cove Resort & Marina on Malolo Island, this event is Windsurfer LT specific. It will feature course racing and slalom disciplines, with 25 new charter boards available on a first-come, first-served basis. Perfect conditions, warm tradewinds, and a welcoming Fijian welcome await competitors.
These two back-to-back events give sailors an early taste of the circuit and a chance to start accumulating points and experience.
2027 Vision: At Least Three Events — Crowned at the Pacific Games
Looking ahead, OSAF is targeting a minimum of three OSAF-sanctioned Windsurfer LT Oceania Championship events in 2027. The grand finale will be staged during the Pacific Games in Tahiti, where the overall circuit winner will be officially recognised and awarded by OSAF.
Not Just Windsurfer LT — A Full Suite of Boat Series
While the Windsurfer LT circuit is a major focus, OSAF continues to support a broad range of boat series that run alongside or within the same championship windows. The Tahiti event is a great example, offering competitive racing for:
- Optimist A, B, and C (youth development pathway)
- ILCA 6 Women and ILCA 7 Men
This multi-class approach ensures sailors of all ages and disciplines have opportunities to compete at Oceania level throughout the year.
